Currently, I’m still in the process of developing New War Order. However, I haven’t had time to write any chapters for a long time.
For those that read other post, you may have known that I didn’t have a job after relocating to Southern California. I searched diligently and couldn’t find anything until recently. Now, I’m working at a real estate company doing the same thing I do here, blogging. I manage SEO and social media websites. My goal is to drive traffic to websites. Though I knew a little about SEO, I just learned so much today. I’m going through all of my old post now and beefing up my tags. It’s pretty nice.
But that’s not why I’m here. I want to talk about New War Order.
I can’t wait to write for that puppy. My skills as a “speed writer” have definitely decreased because I’m more thoughtful of my word usage. Sometimes I get too caught up in describing things, but I’m okay with that. We’re in the thick of the story now and Kode is not himself. He’s lost a lot of power and doesn’t know how to cope. Though he tries being strong, it’s obvious to him and others that he’s extremely weak. Kode isn’t as emotional as Spencer was. That makes connecting his weaknesses with readers a challenge. I’m working on making him vulnerable and that takes time.
My projected launch for New War Order was November. That doesn’t look like it’ll happen. Late December or January are currently in the works. The issue is finding funding! I’ll have to pay for editing service and cover design. I want these next two books to pop, so I’m really investing in the cover. I feel that they tell so much about the characters and story. It’s vital.
Though New War Order is exciting to write, I’m really juiced about getting to Book 4, Eyes That Kill. I’ve thought about that book for a long time. I now have more incentive to make it spectacular. I decided that ending it at Book 5 will be better than Book 6. I don’t want people to get tired of the series because it isn’t a large scale military battle, though it will be similar to one near the end. Also, I have a lot more ideas in my head that I want to get on paper. I’d like to start writing a new series some time next year, so cranking out the last three is priority.
I don’t know how I’m going to mesh Books 5 & 6, but it seems to work in my head. I also don’t know the title of Book 5, but it’s going to break the mold. I may go with one word or one letter. We’ll see. Anyone that’s read Legend of Apollo knows that the ending is a mystery. Whether Kode or Helios wins is up in the air. I hope you’re interested in finding out.
