Deus Ex Machina

Recently, I found a new review for one of my novels, Barcode: Cavern of Youth. The review was actually written by someone that I respect as a reviewer. His opinion is always firm and factually based. I enjoy reading his criticism of my work. In my personal opinion, he didn’t enjoy Legend of Apollo, and I knew the series wasn’t for him. However, I still wanted the reviewer to read Cavern of Youth because I could learn something from his critiques. Because I respect this gentleman and he knows I…

Legend of Apollo Rant

Some reviewers piss me off. Yup. I said it.   Today, I’m going to discuss the burning rage I have for reviewers that are angry when they discover the death of my main character, Spencer Colt. For those of you who have not read the novel, don’t worry. It’s supposed to be a known fact that Spencer dies in the novel. A well known fact. First, if you write reviews, you should read reviews. Don’t write them if you’re too busy or stupid to read them. My reviewers have made…

First Barcode Fan Art

I wanted to share this the very second I acquired it, but I had to wait to receive permission for the artist. Here’s the first fan art for my novel, Barcode: Legend of Apollo. It’s pretty amazing has a great twist to it. I love the style and the personality behind the characters. It’s very accurate. Leave your opinion and let me know what you think. If you’re interested in more art from Mars, visit his website. He’s an incredible graphic design artist.

Barcode: Legend of Apollo Second Edition

I’m currently working on a second edition to my first novel, Legend of Apollo. It’s a streamline version of the first novel. After reading all my reviews and learning a bit more about branding and marketing, I realized that my novel isn’t at its best. Currently, the novel is at 116,000 words. (Actually, I’ve already begun chopping away at it so it’s around 111,000). That’s a problem. It’s too long for the average reader and there’s a lot of unnecessary information. I recently had a discussion with another online marketing…

Barcode: New War Order Release

Currently, I’m still in the process of developing New War Order. However, I haven’t had time to write any chapters for a long time. For those that read other post, you may have known that I didn’t have a job after relocating to Southern California. I searched diligently and couldn’t find anything until recently. Now, I’m working at a real estate company doing the same thing I do here, blogging. I manage SEO and social media websites. My goal is to drive traffic to websites. Though I knew a little…

Concept Art for Barcode: Cavern of Youth

It’s in! The artwork for Barcode: Cavern of Youth is finally here. I was so excited when I saw the concepts for Barcode: Legend of Apollo. Initially I assumed I couldn’t be surprised twice, but it happened. I love going to my Facebook and seeing the number “1” on my messages. I always know who it’s from. My cover art designer sends me regular updates about her process and asks a lot of questions. She’s pretty busy and doesn’t have time to read the novels. Because of that, we type…

An Update For Barcode: Cavern of Youth

I’m currently editing Book 2 of the Barcode series. I love writing. I really do. It takes my mind off things and lets me concentrate on my characters problems instead of my own. It’s an excellent way to avoid the real world. But writing and editing are difficult. I write quickly and make a lot of mistakes. My editing normally carries on for months, both before and after I receive comments from my editor. For this novel, Barcode: Cavern of Youth, I’ll actually have two editors. The first one is…
